The Grand Canyon (part deux)

So today we hiked along again. We took the bus to the point we stopped yesterday.  Clare and Amy took a nap along the way.

We got to see the donkey parade about to go down into the canyon.

Now here we go again with my hundred photos of the canyon:

Our first sighting of the Colorado River

Live the gnarly old trees along the path

Apparently Amy loves them even more.

The view through a crevace

Amy's a donkey on the edge!

The Three Amigos

A class eight rapid

🎶 Sing it with me: The Simpsons🎶
The clouds here look fake.

We made friends along the way

Right before this picture was taken Amy and I searched a guys bag.  In our defense he left it at the top and Amy and I were yelling 'hello' and he wasn't answering.  We were only looking for an ID or something.  We were walking out on a ledge and thought he may have fallen over.  Needless to say he was not happy to find us riffling through his stuff.

We made our way to Herbert's Rest.
This was our lunchtime view....fabulous!

Amy broke the rules and fed a squirrel (yeah, I'm ratting her out!)

Clare checked out the view.

We then headed to Pima Point (because we didn't have enough photos yet)

We saw the mule stalls

And the Grand Canyon train

It was then time to head back to Harvey to get ready for our evening at the canyon.  We completely redneckanized sitting in our lawn chairs in a trailer park, behind our RV drinking. Even Grover.

We then found a gopher friend right next to Harvey

We are now back at the canyon awaiting sunset. Have no fear we brought roadies.

Grover is enjoying the canyon too

Here's some pics so far. More to come later.

  1. The photos are amazing though I imagine they don't do justice to the real thing and being there in person! You girls rock!
